Bannon and Epstein's Texts Uncover Plot to Remove Trump from Office

Text exchanges between Steve Bannon and Jeffrey Epstein have surfaced, shedding light on discussions about removing Donald Trump from the presidency.

Documents recently released from the Epstein files indicate that Bannon, who served as Trump’s chief strategist, communicated with Epstein on New Year’s Eve in 2018. This was shortly after the Democrats regained control of the House of Representatives during the midterm elections.

In their conversation, Bannon expressed concerns about Trump’s political strategy, stating that the “WH” had “zero plan to punch back.” Epstein responded with apprehension, saying, “He is really borderline. Not sure what he may do.”

Bannon escalated the conversation by suggesting, “I think it’s beyond borderline — 25 amendment,” referencing the constitutional provision for presidential succession.

Further into their exchange, Bannon remarked, “we really need an intervention” regarding Trump’s state of mind.

Additional documents reveal Epstein’s worries about Trump potentially showing signs of dementia. In an email to biographer Michael Wolff dated December 29, 2017, Epstein noted concerns raised by dinner guests about Trump’s mental acuity, mentioning that he appeared heavily made up and failed to recognize old acquaintances.

Moreover, Ira Rosen, a former producer for 60 Minutes, detailed in his book Ticking Clock that Bannon confided in him about his suspicions regarding Trump’s cognitive health. Bannon allegedly remarked that Trump exhibited signs of “early-stage dementia,” a claim he later denied.

Rosen recounted Bannon’s observations about Trump’s attention span and memory, stating that he “had no attention span, didn’t read, and now doesn’t listen,” adding that Trump often repeated stories within short intervals.

In his book, Rosen also claimed that Bannon sought to rally support for Trump’s removal from office due to these health concerns.
