Massive NYC Fire Injures 9, Including 3 Firefighters
A total of nine individuals, among them three firefighters, sustained injuries during a significant fire incident that engulfed a residence in Brooklyn on Friday morning, according to the FDNY.
The fire ignited shortly before 10:30 a.m. on the second and third floors of a three-story house located on Eastern Parkway near New York Avenue in Crown Heights, as confirmed by officials.
The intensity of the blaze escalated to two alarms, prompting the dispatch of 25 FDNY units comprising 106 firefighters and EMS personnel to the site.
While battling the flames, one firefighter incurred non-life-threatening injuries, and two others suffered minor injuries, as per the FDNY's statement.
Moreover, the morning fire resulted in one civilian sustaining severe injuries, with an additional five civilians receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, officials reported.
By 11:40 a.m., the fire was successfully brought under control; however, investigations into its cause are currently ongoing.
