NFL Rookie James Pearce Allegedly Rammed WNBA Star's Vehicle Amid Dispute
Atlanta Falcons rookie James Pearce is under scrutiny following allegations that he repeatedly crashed his SUV into the car of his ex-girlfriend, Rickea Jackson, a forward for the Los Angeles Sparks. This information comes from a criminal complaint that has surfaced.
According to the complaint, Jackson, 24, reported to authorities that Pearce, 22, pursued her in his white Lamborghini on February 7 in Doral, Florida. When she halted at a red light, Pearce allegedly exited his vehicle and attempted to open her driver’s side door.
In a bid to escape, Jackson accelerated towards the Doral Police Department. Pearce is accused of intentionally colliding with the rear of her vehicle during this pursuit. As she approached an intersection near the police station, Jackson claims Pearce cut her off, leading to a head-on collision when she tried to reverse.
An affidavit corroborates Jackson's claims, revealing damage to her car consistent with the reported incidents.

Pearce was arrested on five felony charges, which include two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, fleeing or eluding police with lights or siren, and aggravated stalking. Additionally, he faces a misdemeanor charge for resisting an officer without violence. He remained incarcerated until February 9, when he posted a $20,500 bond.
A spokesperson for the Falcons acknowledged the incident involving Pearce, stating, “We are aware of an incident involving James Pearce Jr. in Miami. We are in the process of gathering more information and will not have any further comment on an open legal matter at this time.”
Pearce's legal team has issued a statement asserting his innocence. Attorneys Jacob Nunez, Yale Sanford, and Joshua Cohen expressed their commitment to working with the State Attorney’s Office to investigate the case thoroughly. “Mr. Pearce maintains his innocence and urges the public to understand that while allegations have the power to shape a narrative, that it is hardly the full, complete story,” they stated. They expressed confidence in his ability to continue contributing positively to his team and community.
Efforts to reach Doral police for comments have been made, as well as inquiries directed towards the Sparks organization.
Pearce and Jackson's relationship dates back to their college days at the University of Tennessee, where both were athletes for the Volunteers. Jackson was selected fourth overall by the Sparks in the 2024 WNBA Draft, while Pearce was picked 26th overall by the Falcons the following year.
Jackson informed police that their three-year relationship recently ended. She had blocked Pearce’s number to prevent further contact; however, he allegedly began reaching out from different numbers. She provided police with evidence of ongoing text messages that persisted into Saturday morning despite her requests for him to cease communication.
The NFL has confirmed that they are in contact with the club regarding this matter, which will be reviewed under their personal conduct policy.
