Seahawks QB Sam Darnold’s Fiancée Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Moments from Super Bowl Victory

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold's fiancée, Katie Hoofnagle, has opened a window into the jubilant atmosphere following the team's Super Bowl triumph at Levi's Stadium. Just two days after the Seahawks secured a 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots, Hoofnagle took to Instagram, showcasing her pride and sharing candid moments from the field.

“And despite everything, you remained kind,” she wrote, accompanying a carousel of images featuring Darnold, 28, reveling in the win. “In moments where it would’ve been so easy to make excuses or put the blame on somebody else, you never wavered. Your patience, respect, discipline, and humility have continuously shone through, even on the hardest days of the journey.”

Hoofnagle continued with heartfelt sentiments, stating, “It’s an honor and a privilege to share you with the world on Sundays, and I’m so grateful that you finally got your flowers on the biggest stage. As long as I’m alive, you’ll always have someone who is proud of you in everything that you do.”

In her Instagram Story, she also highlighted her game-day attire—a stylish black jacket paired with a white top and jeans emblazoned with Darnold’s No. 14 and “Seattle” stitched prominently.

The couple has been in the spotlight recently, especially after Darnold proposed on a picturesque beach in Dana Point, California, in July 2025. Their relationship began in 2023, and excitement continues to build around their future together.

Last June, Hoofnagle—who played club soccer at the University of South Carolina—expressed her affection for Darnold in a touching birthday tribute. “Amidst the chaos of our everyday lives, every day spent with you is filled with an abundance of peace, laughter, presence, joy, and love,” she wrote. “Here’s to another trip around the sun sharing good meals, good music, and good company. Happy 28th birthday to my better half, I love you more 💖.”

Darnold reciprocated those feelings in an exclusive interview earlier this year, emphasizing how Hoofnagle helps him maintain balance amid the pressures of professional football. “The support [from] my girlfriend is unbelievable,” he shared at the RX3 2025 Charity Flag Football Tournament in Mission Viejo, California. “You know, the fact that she just understands it. She’s a former athlete herself and just gets kind of the grind of everything.”

“She’s great,” he added affectionately. “She’s always been my biggest supporter. And I love her, and I thank her for that all the time.”

Darnold also reflected on the uncertainties that come with playing in the NFL. “We have lives, we have families, we have everything just like everyone else,” he noted. “Whenever we are on a one-year deal, like, yeah, it’s great. I understand playing in the NFL is awesome and I love every second of it. But when you have those one-year deals, which a lot of guys in the NFL are on, you’re always in the back of your head thinking, ‘OK, where am I gonna play next?’”
