Trump Unleashes Expansionist Map Following Bad Bunny's Unity Message at Super Bowl

Feb 13 2026

In a bold response to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance, President Trump took to social media to assert his expansionist vision for the United States. The Puerto Rican artist, during his set, held a ball emblazoned with the phrase “Together, we are America,” a clear nod to unity that many interpreted as a critique of Trump’s stringent immigration policies.

Trump’s reaction was swift and scathing. He labeled the halftime show “an affront to the Greatness of America,” expressing his discontent on Truth Social shortly after the performance concluded. “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense,” he declared, underscoring his disdain for the message conveyed by Bad Bunny.

But the controversy didn’t end there. Trump followed up with a provocative post featuring an AI-generated image that depicted his aspirations for an expanded American empire. The map showcased the Americas, with Greenland, Canada, and Venezuela draped in the U.S. flag, a visual representation of his territorial ambitions.

This image first surfaced in January amid discussions about Greenland’s future, illustrating Trump in the Oval Office alongside various European leaders, including British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron. By resharing this image, Trump reignites the contentious debate surrounding Greenland, a territory that Denmark governs but which Trump has long insisted should be part of the U.S. for security reasons.

Despite an existing treaty granting the U.S. military access to Greenland, Trump has previously hinted at more aggressive measures, including the potential deployment of armed forces—a suggestion he later retracted during a summit in Davos.

In another recent AI-generated image shared by Trump, he was depicted planting an American flag on Greenland alongside Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, with a sign proclaiming: “GREENLAND - US TERRITORY EST. 2026.”

Trump’s fixation on Greenland isn’t unique; other U.S. figures have also circulated images of the territory adorned with the American flag. Conservative podcast host Katie Miller, for instance, recently posted a similar image with the caption: “SOON.”

However, Trump’s latest actions could exacerbate tensions with Canada. Just weeks ago, he threatened to impose a staggering 100 percent tariff on Canadian goods if they proceeded with a trade agreement with China. His comments suggesting Canada should become the 51st state have not gone unnoticed by its leaders.

Canada remains wary of Trump’s ambitions regarding Greenland, given their shared 1,864-mile maritime border with the territory. As these developments unfold, the implications for U.S.-Canada relations remain uncertain.
