Guard Searched Epstein Online Just Before His Death, Had ‘Questionable’ Bank Transactions, Documents Reveal
Documents recently uncovered regarding Jeffrey Epstein have ignited new questions about the conduct of the jail guards overseeing him at the time of his death. Notably, one guard conducted an online search for Epstein shortly before he was discovered dead, alongside reports of “questionable” bank transactions linked to her.
Tova Noel, who later confessed to falsifying records concerning Epstein’s 2019 death, searched for “latest on Epstein in jail” twice within an hour before his body was found. Her online activity, detailed in the documents, indicates she performed these searches at 5:42 a.m. and again at 5:52 a.m. on August 10. Epstein’s lifeless body was located by fellow guard Michael Thomas less than 40 minutes later, at 6:30 a.m.
In a sworn statement to the DOJ in 2021, Noel denied having Googled Epstein while on duty, claiming, “I don’t remember doing that.”
Both Noel and Thomas faced charges for falsifying prison records to create the illusion that they had conducted mandatory checks on Epstein prior to his death. However, prosecutors later dropped these charges following a plea agreement.
According to DOJ files reviewed by various sources, Noel’s banking activities raised red flags with the FBI in the months leading up to Epstein’s demise. Chase Bank flagged over a dozen deposits to her account starting in April 2018 in a “suspicious activity report.” The most significant deposit of $5,000 occurred on July 30, 2019, just ten days before Epstein’s death. No charges were ever filed against her concerning these financial transactions.

Since Epstein’s death, ruled a suicide by the medical examiner, numerous conspiracy theories and suspicions have emerged. In addition to the scrutiny surrounding Noel, DOJ files reveal that an inmate reported overhearing guards discussing a potential cover-up of Epstein’s death on the morning it occurred. This inmate recounted waking up in the Special Housing Unit, where both he and Epstein were incarcerated, to hear officers shouting “Breathe! Breathe!” followed by one officer exclaiming, “Dudes, you killed that dude.”
Allegedly, a female guard then remarked, “If he is dead, we’re going to cover it up and he’s going to have an alibi ― my officers.” The inmate noted that other inmates subsequently blamed Noel for Epstein’s death.
Noel’s legal representatives did not provide immediate comments when approached for feedback on this matter.
