Nancy Pelosi Set to Back Jack Schlossberg in New York Congressional Bid

Feb 08 2026

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is gearing up to endorse Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of John F. Kennedy, in the Democratic primary for New York's 12th Congressional District, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed on Saturday.

This endorsement has been brewing for several weeks, according to insiders, although it remains unannounced to the public.

At 33, Schlossberg, son of Caroline Kennedy and cousin to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., launched his campaign back in November.

He enters a fiercely competitive race against other Democratic hopefuls, including state Assembly members Alex Bores and Micah Lasher, attorney George Conway, and journalist Jami Floyd, all vying to succeed retiring Rep. Jerry Nadler.

Schlossberg has actively campaigned alongside President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election cycle, aiming to engage younger voters. His campaign is characterized by a progressive agenda and a strong focus on social media outreach.

Should he secure victory, Schlossberg would become at least the seventh member of the Kennedy family to hold a congressional seat.

The 12th Congressional District encompasses affluent areas of Manhattan, including Midtown, the Upper East Side, and the Upper West Side, known for its Democratic-leaning electorate.

The news of Pelosi's impending endorsement was first reported by a prominent national publication.
