“Hey, gentlemen, this is your chance to date an Olympian!” Sophia Kirkby declared in a recent Instagram video, inviting fans to join her in a quest for love ahead of Valentine’s Day.

The 24-year-old Team USA luger, gearing up for the Winter Olympics, took to social media to announce her single status and her search for a Valentine. “The Olympics officially kick off this Friday, and I’ll be in Cortina,” she wrote on February 1, showcasing her Team USA gear. “Also… yes, I’m single. Athlete Village’s Most Eligible Bachelorette season has officially begun.”

As expected, her call for companionship led to a flood of messages in her DMs. “DM review: boys edition,” she captioned a video shared on February 9, where she read some of the more colorful responses. One admirer proclaimed, “Sophia you are an amazing, wonderful and Lovely Dreamwoman ❤️🌸😊.” Another straightforwardly asked, “Hi Sophia! Heard you are looking for a Valentine’s date?”

“I mean, I am,” Kirkby playfully replied, engaging with her audience while maintaining a light-hearted tone.

In another interaction, a suitor suggested she gift a handmade pin to the DJ at the sliding center. “Oh my god, the DJ at our Olympic venue wants me to give him a pin,” she responded, contemplating the idea with enthusiasm. The comments section buzzed with agreement that she should indeed share her pin.

Kirkby and her luge partner, Chevonne Forgan, are making history as the first American women’s doubles team to compete at the Winter Olympics. Their journey has been documented on Instagram, where Kirkby has been candid about her dating life amidst the competitive atmosphere.

“I finish racing on the 12th and I’m looking for a Valentine’s Date,” she continued in her post. “I’m not just looking to the other Olympians to grab a cappuccino. I’ll have my dating profiles activated and I’m open to grabbing a coffee with you fans. See you in Cortina. ☕️”

Her quest for romance didn’t stop there; she shared updates throughout the event. During the Opening Ceremony on February 6, she pointed out the crowd of athletes behind her with the caption, “My Valentine might be in this line somewhere.”

“I had the best time walking in the Opening Ceremony. Seeing everyone dressed up and soaking it all in was unreal,” she reflected. “Now the only question is… did I just walk with my future Valentine? 🌸☕️”

The following day, Kirkby collaborated with brand partner Xfinity to further promote her search for love. In a playful pitch, she reiterated her availability for dates post-competition. “My event will be done on February 12, right before Valentine’s Day,” she explained. “We can grab a cappuccino, maybe an Aperol Spritz.”

As for her ideal date? Kirkby described him as “about yea tall,” gesturing above her head, and emphasized he should be “so nice” and strong enough to sweep her off her feet.
