Adam Kinzinger Delivers Savage Retort to Lindsey Graham's Iran War Rant
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) took to social media Tuesday, expressing frustration over what he perceives as the “arrogance” of U.S. allies during the ongoing conflict with Iran. His remarks, however, drew a scathing reply from former Republican Representative Adam Kinzinger (Ill.).
Graham, known for his hawkish stance, criticized European allies for their reluctance to contribute resources to maintain operations in the Strait of Hormuz. “Our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning is unacceptable,” he posted on X.
Kinzinger wasted no time in firing back, stating, “Oh eat a sack of ripe anuses,” while also pointing out that President Donald Trump had previously dismissed the need for allies during the initial weeks of the conflict.
The situation in the Strait of Hormuz has escalated, with Iran effectively blocking this vital maritime route following military actions from the U.S. and Israel last month. Graham’s post included a claim that he had spoken with Trump, who he described as “angrier than I’ve ever seen him.”
“The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern is beyond offensive,” Graham asserted, warning that the lack of support could have severe consequences for both Europe and America.
In his post, Graham expressed his frustration: “Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life.”
Graham’s previous comments regarding military action in Iran have been notably enthusiastic. Earlier this month, he proclaimed that once the conflict concludes, “We’re gonna obliterate their nuclear program and there’s gonna be a new dawn in the Mideast,” labeling the estimated $1 billion daily expenditure on the war as “the best money ever spent.”
This fervent support for military engagement has not gone unnoticed, drawing criticism from some conservative figures. Megyn Kelly recently remarked that “the problem with Lindsey Graham isn’t just that he’s a homicidal maniac; it’s that Trump likes and is listening to him.”
Meghan McCain also weighed in, stating on X that despite knowing Graham since childhood, she is now “imploring anyone who will listen in the Trump administration to stop sending this man out” as a spokesperson.
“He is scaring people and doing damage to whatever message you’re trying to sell to the American public about the Iran war,” she added, highlighting concerns over Graham’s influence.
