Billionaire Outsider Crushes Trump-Endorsed Candidate in Georgia Governor Race
Billionaire Rick Jackson obliterated Burt Jones, the Trump-backed lieutenant governor, to seize Georgia’s GOP nomination for governor.
Jackson poured over $93 million of his own cash into his campaign, marking him as one of the largest self-funded candidates in U.S. history.

Jones, who was part of Trump’s scheme to overturn the 2020 election results, fell short despite the former president’s endorsement.
Jackson claimed to be the most Trump-like figure in the race, positioning himself as an outsider businessman ready to shake up the political landscape.
In the general election, he will face Democratic nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms, who made history as just the second Black woman to serve as Atlanta's mayor and aims to become the first Black woman elected governor of any U.S. state.
