Boebert Labels Gonzales a 'Disgusting Pig' Amid Affair Scandal Linked to Aide's Suicide
Rep. Lauren Boebert did not hold back, branding fellow Republican Tony Gonzales a "repugnant swine" following allegations of an affair with a former aide who tragically took her own life. Boebert urged House Speaker Mike Johnson to take action regarding the situation.
In response, Johnson acknowledged the gravity of the allegations but refrained from outlining any specific actions, suggesting that Gonzales should confront these issues directly with his constituents.

Meanwhile, Rep. Nancy Mace is gearing up for a significant move, announcing plans to initiate a House vote next week aimed at releasing reports on sexual misconduct and harassment involving congressional members.
Once Mace sets the process in motion, House Republican leadership will have a mere two legislative days to schedule a vote. "When are we going to start policing our own? We haven't done that yet because both sides protect each other from embarrassment," she stated emphatically.
Despite the mounting pressure, Gonzales remains defiant, asserting, "I work every day for the people of Texas." He added, "What you've seen are not all the facts," during a recent statement.
Repeated inquiries regarding the authenticity of texts central to the scandal—where Gonzales allegedly solicited "sexy" photos from Regina Ann Santos-Aviles and inquired about her preferred sexual positions—went unanswered by Gonzales.
In the political arena, Gonzales finds himself trailing significantly in the GOP primary for Texas' 23rd district, lagging over 20 points behind his opponent.
Polling data reveals that Gonzales is projected to secure only 21% of likely voter support in the upcoming March 3 primary, where he faces off against YouTuber and gun enthusiast Brandon Herrera.
Herrera currently leads with 45% support, positioning him as the frontrunner for a potential runoff scheduled for May 26. Additionally, 26% of respondents remain undecided, while former Rep. Francisco "Quico" Canseco and construction executive Keith Barton each garnered 4% support.
Further insights from the poll indicate that 54% of participants view Gonzales unfavorably, contrasting with just 24% who still express support for him.
Punchbowl News reported that the Office of Congressional Conduct is investigating possible violations of House rules related to the alleged affair.
Even if Gonzales manages to win his primary on March 3, he could still face scrutiny from the House Ethics Committee depending on the findings from the Office of Congressional Conduct.
