Chelsea Handler Takes Aim at Spencer Pratt's Mayoral Bid, Ignites Old Rivalry

Chelsea Handler is not holding back. The comedian unleashed a scathing critique of Spencer Pratt's bid for mayor of Los Angeles, reigniting a Hollywood feud that dates back years. In a fiery Instagram video, Handler urged voters to see through Pratt's political facade, declaring, "If you’re seeing this video, this is a reminder that a straight, white male former reality star that has no previous experience in government should not be a legitimate political candidate."

Handler, 51, didn’t just stop at words; she poured herself a canned cocktail mid-rant, emphasizing her disdain for the current political climate. "Have we learned anything yet? The bar is on the f---ing floor, people, and I need you to jump over it," she added, clearly frustrated with the state of affairs. This outburst comes on the heels of her complaints about her 'toxic' $6 million home purchased from RFK Jr.

Spencer Pratt, 42, who threw his hat in the ring for mayor in January after losing his Pacific Palisades home to wildfires, wasn’t about to take Handler’s comments lying down. He fired back on X, sharing a clip of comedian Shane Gillis roasting Handler for attending a dinner party hosted by none other than convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. "Most of you have probably never heard of Chelsea Handler, so here’s an introduction!" Pratt quipped in his post.

The Epstein jab originated during Netflix’s roast of Kevin Hart, where Gillis took aim at Handler. "Speaking of tossing tiny shrimp into a child’s mouth, Chelsea Handler went to dinner at Jeffrey Epstein’s house in 2010," he said, prompting groans from the audience. Handler has previously admitted to attending that dinner but insisted it was her only encounter with Epstein. "I’ve never been on the private island and I’ve never been on his plane. I’ve met him one time and that was the time," she clarified. Epstein died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges, and Handler has faced no accusations related to him.

The animosity between Handler and Pratt traces back to the late 2000s when Handler frequently mocked Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag on her late-night show Chelsea Lately. As the political landscape heats up, so does their rivalry—one that shows no signs of cooling down anytime soon.
