Eight men, aged 19 to 32, have been charged with a conspiracy to attack Donald Trump and other high-ranking officials during the UFC Freedom 250 event, a shocking plot that was thwarted just days before the event.
The attack was aimed at multiple targets, including Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and billionaire Elon Musk. The UFC Freedom 250 took place on June 14 on the South Lawn of the White House, coinciding with Trump’s 80th birthday and the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
Details of the conspiracy reveal that plans began in May 2026, with recruitment and communication occurring in online group chats across platforms like Signal, SimpleX, Discord, TikTok, and Instagram.
The U.S. Department of Justice reported that the conspirators gathered weapons, ammunition, tactical gear, and other supplies while engaging in marksmanship and combat training in preparation for the attack.
Officials claim the plot was designed to destabilize the government. Although specific execution details were not disclosed in the DOJ release, reports indicate a two-phase attack plan involving explosive drone strikes aimed at creating chaos.
As chaos erupted from the drone strikes, marksmen would target high-value individuals, including Trump, while another group would storm the White House.
Attendance at the White House event reached approximately 4,300 people, with an additional 85,000 at a free viewing party outside the gates.
Law enforcement intervened four days prior to the UFC event, successfully halting the planned attack. Vance expressed gratitude that the attack was “apparently thwarted or never got to the point where it was carried out” during an appearance on Fox News’ Fox & Friends.
The charges against the eight men include conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists and conspiracy to commit murder on federal government territory. The potential penalties are severe: up to 15 years in prison for material support and life imprisonment for murder conspiracy.
