Comedian Claims RFK Jr. and Cheryl Hines Sold Her 'The Most Hazardous' Home

Comedian Chelsea Handler opened up about the “nightmare” of a house she acquired from Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and actress Cheryl Hines five years prior.

During a recent episode of her “Dear Chelsea” podcast, Handler recounted her experience to a listener who expressed frustration over the presence of the Department of Health and Human Services secretary at her gym.

“I still have not lived in this house,” Handler stated, with guest Denis Leary encouraging her to share more details.

“That’s how messed up this house was, the idea that this guy is in charge of the health of our country when he didn’t even have a proper foundation at his house,” she remarked in the March 5 episode.

Handler revealed that inspectors deemed the home to have “the most toxic environment,” advising her against moving in “for at least two years.” Some visitors even suggested that the property was cursed.

“I’m not exaggerating any of this,” Handler insisted. “It was a disaster, and I didn’t know it going in because everything was, you know, under wraps.”

The real estate deal was initially shrouded in anonymity for both parties, as it was executed through trusts.

“So I have my own issues with RFK Jr.,” Handler added, making her feelings clear to listeners.

The former host of “Chelsea Lately” mentioned that the final straw came when she discovered an outdoor storage unit on the property was illegal.

“So now we have to remove his illegal nonsense from my property, and I’m like, how did they not find this upon the first inspection?” she questioned.

Handler also noted that Hines had “the audacity” to leave behind a note saying, “Let us know if there’s anything we can do for you, Chelsea.”

“I’m like, ‘Yeah, how about a proper foundation?’” Handler recalled. “That’s something you could do for me. Anyway, I’m not angry about it or anything. I’m totally over it.”

According to Realtor.com, Handler purchased her home in the upscale Mandeville Canyon area of Brentwood for $5.9 million.

Representatives for Kennedy and Hines did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
