Donald Trump Stumbles on Lincoln Memorial Name, Ignites Health Concerns

Donald Trump left C-SPAN viewers stunned as he blanked on the name of the Lincoln Memorial during a live broadcast.

The president, 79, faced reporters at JFK International Airport in New York City, returning to Washington, D.C., after watching Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

While discussing the game and the ongoing war in Iran, Trump diverted to boast about the Lincoln Memorial. He has recently made significant changes to Washington, including a $400 million White House ballroom and a new promenade for the Lincoln Memorial, which has drawn criticism.

In a live exchange, Trump stated, "We've got a promenade at the Lincoln Museum, at Lincoln. And you have to see this. This will be one of the most beautiful things." He then hesitated and corrected himself, saying, "The Lincoln Memorial." He added, "It's going to be unbelievable."

Footage from the C-SPAN broadcast circulated on X, where viewers expressed concern for Trump's health. One user remarked, "Dementia J. Trump doesn’t remember what the Lincoln Memorial is called."

Another suggested, "He’s demented and feeble," while a third noted, "This is a high-definition timeline of a 79-year-old brain experiencing neurodegenerative aging."

"Dementia Watch Trump is not well," warned one viewer. Another pointed out, "Trump glitches again and forgets it’s the Lincoln Memorial," with someone joking, "Grandpa still ain’t anywhere near sharp even after his Knicks nap," referencing Trump's apparent dozing off at the NBA game.

A seventh commenter stated, "There he goes again. He can't remember the right name. Yesterday, he couldn’t remember the Washington Monument. Today, it’s the Lincoln Memorial."

In another part of the C-SPAN interview, Trump claimed he received a warm welcome at the Knicks game. However, loud boos erupted in Madison Square Garden when he appeared on the Jumbotron.

The boos shifted to cheers when Knicks star Jalen Brunson was shown instead. Despite this, Trump insisted, "I thought great. I mean, I thought it was amazing, actually. You mean, where they had the camera on me?"

He stumbled over his words further, stating, "I thought it was very good. It was certainly amazing. It was, it was, I think, mostly cheers. It was, it was loud, and it was very enthusiastic."
