Ex-Prison Guard Exposes Shocking Details of Viral Cell Sex Scandal

May 26 2026

Linda De Sousa Abreu, a former prison guard, has come clean about her scandalous affair with inmate Linton Weirich, admitting she is "incredibly embarrassed" and regrets "everything she did."

At 32 years old, De Sousa Abreu described HMP Wandsworth as "very understaffed" and "hard to manage," conditions that contributed to her inappropriate relationship with Weirich. He accused her of smuggling food, drugs, and phones into the prison.

The married mother of one, who shared an adult content account with her husband, denied bringing food for Weirich but acknowledged, "Everyone’s doing something." She expressed remorse, stating, "I regret everything I did. I’m incredibly embarrassed."

Weirich, serving a sentence of four years and nine months for burglary, claimed he connected with De Sousa Abreu on Snapchat and they had sex multiple times before their recorded encounter in 2024.

De Sousa Abreu reiterated the staffing issues at Wandsworth, stating, "Listen, the police had my phone for over a year." She admitted guilt for her inappropriate relationship with Weirich, saying, "That was my fault and that’s what I went guilty for, and that’s as far as it went."

She confessed to having sex with someone she shouldn't have and maintained that her misconduct was limited to that relationship.

The infamous B-wing romp was filmed by an inmate known as “Sharkie,” who remarked, "This is how we live at Wandsworth. Gangsters online."

Originally from Brazil, De Sousa Abreu resigned after the scandal broke. She pleaded guilty to misconduct in a public office on July 29, 2024, and received a 15-month prison sentence on January 6 of the following year.

After serving five months at HMP Bronzefield in Surrey, she was released with an electronic tag. Reflecting on life post-incarceration, she stated, "I’ve just been keeping a low-key life. I just want to get on with my life. I want to keep being a good mum to my child."

Weirich, now 38 years old and with a history of four prison sentences since 2003, claimed that "the system has changed" and that jail discipline has deteriorated while staff corruption has increased.

He asserted that many staff members are corrupt and profit more from smuggling contraband than from their salaries.

Weirich described the conditions in prison as "inhumane," with inmates confined for up to 23 hours a day. He added that any attention in such circumstances is welcome, stating that De Sousa Abreu used to bring in Nando's and Chinese meals for inmates.

At the time of the scandal, Weirich's partner Emilia Juckes was pregnant with their son, who is now 19 months old. Emilia gave birth in September 2024. Shortly after, Weirich was attacked in a visiting room by another inmate while holding his baby.

He recounted waking up to Emilia saying, "Someone hit you." He believes the attack is directly linked to the viral video from Wandsworth, suggesting it was either orchestrated or motivated by his newfound notoriety.
