FBI Launches $25K Manhunt for Armed Suspect in Kansas City Mass Shootings

A 22-year-old suspect, Oscar Sanchez-Munoz, is on the run after a violent spree that included multiple highway shootings near a major sporting event. The FBI's Kansas City field office is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to his arrest and conviction.

Sanchez-Munoz is described as a White and Hispanic male, weighing approximately 184 pounds, standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his right forearm.

Authorities have issued a clear warning: Sanchez-Munoz is considered "armed and dangerous." His violent actions have spanned both Kansas and Missouri, prompting an urgent manhunt.

A state warrant for his arrest was issued after he allegedly shot at a car on June 11 in Wyandotte County, Kansas. He faces charges for criminal discharge of a firearm and has an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault in the same county, with a bond set at $100,000.

Kansas City Police Department officials believe Sanchez-Munoz is the prime suspect in five shootings that occurred Tuesday night along Interstate 70 in Kansas City, Missouri, just miles from Arrowhead Stadium, where FIFA World Cup matches were taking place.

One victim was killed in these shootings, while another sustained serious injuries. An Uber driver was shot in the leg while transporting fans to a World Cup match between Argentina and Algeria but is expected to recover.

The violent incidents culminated in an intense standoff at a residence in Independence, Missouri. The standoff ended with the house catching fire. After the flames were extinguished and the area deemed safe, investigators, K-9 units, and Missouri State Fire Marshals searched the burned property but did not locate Sanchez-Munoz.

However, authorities successfully recovered the vehicle believed to be involved in the shootings. As of now, no motives have been disclosed.

The FBI and KCPD are urging the public to stay alert and report any sightings of Sanchez-Munoz by calling 911 immediately.
