Fox News Viewers Rage as Trump Turns White House Lawn into UFC Arena

Fox News viewers unleashed fury as President Donald Trump transformed the White House South Lawn into a UFC venue, a move they branded as "embarrassing on a global scale."

Recent photographs revealed a towering temporary structure, matching the height of the White House itself, under construction for the UFC Freedom 250 event. This spectacle is set for June 14, coinciding with Flag Day and Trump's 80th birthday.

The South Lawn now features significantly fewer trees and less vegetation, raising eyebrows after Trump faced accusations of "hallucinating" during an NBA Finals game in front of prominent figures.

Fox News reported that the White House dubbed this event "a once-in-a-generation celebration of the American fighting spirit," as crews worked tirelessly to erect the venue in the heart of Washington, D.C.

Critics flooded social media, condemning the UFC event and claiming Trump is ruining the pristine grounds of the South Lawn.

One critic remarked, "The framework is ugly and really detracts from the beauty of the White House." Another questioned Trump's awareness of pressing national issues, stating, "So does it look to you like Trump is even remotely aware of what is happening in this country these days? Do food and gas prices register with him? It's embarrassing what this relic sees as important."

A third commentator added, "This is embarrassing on a global scale. Americans are once again getting laughed at by the world. USA, a once proud nation, now the laughing stock of all governments."

Following the UFC Freedom 250 event, CEO Dana White and the UFC are expected to incur a $700,000 cost to restore the South Lawn grass.

To accommodate a 5,000-seat venue and The Claw—a massive dome-and-arch structure—reports indicated that the South Lawn had to be "flattened," causing significant damage to the turf.

In a discussion with Sports Business Journal in October 2025, White acknowledged that repairing the damage from this temporary installation would require substantial financial resources.

"There is no doubt about it, this is going to be the most challenging event we have ever done," he stated. "I'm coming off a stadium event, which I don't like stadiums, to the thing that I hate the most in outdoor events."

He further elaborated, "This is just one little piece I was talking about last night. To replace the grass, because we're going to f--- up the South Lawn, $700,000 just to replace the grass."

This controversy follows explosive claims made by the daughter of Trump's doctor regarding his health.
