Good Morning Britain Sparks Outrage with Chaotic Shouting Match

May 11 2026

“This is unwatchable!” screamed viewers as Good Morning Britain spiraled into a chaotic shouting match that left audiences reeling.

Hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, flanked by Kevin Maguire and Gillian Keegan, attempted to tackle the latest headlines, including Keir Starmer's imminent speech. But when the topic shifted to Connaught School for Girls staging a counter-protest against striking teachers, the panel erupted.

Susanna laid out the students' plea for their teachers to return to the classroom ahead of their crucial GCSEs. Gillian chimed in, “It’s outrageous that teachers are striking right before exams! But well done those girls!”

“How destabilizing is that?” Susanna shot back, while Kevin praised the students’ “pluckiness” but reminded everyone of the teachers’ plight—job losses, fewer staff, and unbearable workloads.

Ed jumped in, noting that the strike would run from April 21 to June 8, right through exam season. Kevin urged, “Don’t protest against them! The kids should pressure the academy or local authority!”

But as Kevin spoke, it became clear that Susanna, Ed, and Gillian were not on the same page. They all began to talk over one another, voices rising in a cacophony of confusion.

Suddenly, the Good Morning Britain theme tune blared in the background, cutting off the debate. “Let us know what you think about that!” Susanna urged viewers, shifting focus to the cost of living and the Prime Minister’s future.

Social media exploded with criticism as viewers vented their frustrations. “Just a dreadful shouting match. This s***e is unwatchable,” one user lamented. Another added, “I can’t hear a thing with them all shouting over each other. Is there no one at @gmb that can tell them one at a time?”

“#gmb Turned off! Can’t stand the shouting and no Laura today either. I’ll try the BBC,” another viewer declared. “Do they really think we enjoy listening to them shout?”

One frustrated viewer exclaimed, “Can’t hear a word they’re saying, just shouting at each other FFS!” while another bluntly advised, “Stop f***ing shouting.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV starting at 6am, but after this debacle, who knows how many viewers will stick around?
