Marjorie Taylor Greene, the former congresswoman, did not hold back in her response to President Donald Trump’s recent derogatory remarks about Candace Owens. In a pointed critique, she accused Trump of “hating women he can’t control.”
The controversy ignited on Friday when Trump posted a manipulated Time magazine cover on Truth Social, branding Owens, known for her controversial conservative views, as the “Vile Person of the Year.” He further denounced her comments regarding France’s first lady as “despicable,” asserting, “I believe, in this case, without verification, she is an extremely low IQ individual.”
Greene, who distanced herself from Trump after resigning from Congress in January, took to X to address the situation. She stated, “President Trump hates women he can’t control, who don’t worship him, women who actually worship God, and are much more intelligent than he is. Women like @RealCandaceO.”
In her remarks, Greene suggested that Trump was influenced by far-right activist Laura Loomer and criticized him for targeting Owens and political commentator Megyn Kelly. She pointed out his lack of support for victims of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein while labeling those who do support them as traitors.

This incident is part of a broader trend where Trump has recently lashed out at various conservative figures—many of whom are women—who have diverged from his views. He has repeatedly labeled critics like Kelly and Owens as “low IQ,” “nut jobs,” and “losers” on his social media platform.
“The only people in his cabinet that he’s either fired or privately told to leave are women: Christi (sic) Noem, Pam Bondi, and Lori Chavez DeReemer,” Greene noted. “He appointed Elise Stefanik as ambassador to the UN then took it away without a care even after all she did to support him just because Johnson told him to.”
Greene continued her critique, emphasizing that regardless of personal opinions about any of the women involved, one fact remains clear: “Trump hates women. And posts like this one are going to turn the majority of women in America against him.”
Owens and Greene are not alone in their criticism; Megyn Kelly, once a supporter who endorsed Trump for the 2024 election, has also become a vocal opponent, particularly regarding his approach to the ongoing conflict in Iran. This shift has led Trump to publicly question her loyalty to the MAGA movement.

While many of Trump’s most scathing attacks have been directed at female commentators, he has also targeted other prominent figures aligned with MAGA, including conservative commentator Tucker Carlson and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
Earlier this month, Trump intensified the feud by criticizing Carlson, Kelly, Owens, and Jones in a single post on Truth Social amid rising discontent over his Iran policy. He stated, “They have one thing in common: Low IQs. They’re stupid people; they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it too!”
The White House has been approached for comments regarding these ongoing disputes.
