‘How Do We Invoke the 25th Amendment Against Him?’: Alex Jones Urges Trump's Ouster
Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones openly suggested invoking the 25th Amendment to oust President Donald Trump, citing alarming threats directed at Iran. “How do we 25th Amendment his ass?” he questioned during a segment of “The Alex Jones Show” on Monday, addressing guest Robert Barnes.
As tensions rise, a faction of Democrats has begun to consider this constitutional measure, which permits the removal of a president deemed unfit to perform his duties. This discussion gained traction following Trump’s aggressive stance on Iran, particularly his warning of potential military action if the nation does not comply with his demands regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump's rhetoric escalated dramatically, asserting that “a whole civilization will die tonight” if Iran fails to reach an agreement by 8 p.m. ET Tuesday. Jones, who has historically supported Trump, expressed concern over the implications of such threats, cautioning against possible war crimes should they be executed.
“The definition of genocide is destroying an entire civilization/people! Trump literally sounds like an unhinged super villain from a Marvel comic movie,” Jones remarked on X, emphasizing that this was not what his supporters had anticipated when voting for him.
Barnes cautioned that invoking the 25th Amendment is a complex process, potentially more challenging than impeachment. He proposed an alternative strategy: allowing Trump to maintain the façade of presidency while Vice President JD Vance assumes control under the guise of a health issue.
“It literally needs to be something like that. It’s that bad,” Barnes asserted. Jones responded, “I’ve known you for a long time. You’ve never called for an internal coup before.”
Jones is not alone in his sentiments; other conservatives have echoed similar calls for the 25th Amendment. Candace Owens labeled Trump a “genocidal lunatic,” while former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, once an ally, cautioned against actions that could lead to mass destruction.
“He’s threatening an extinction-level event for the people of Iran tomorrow,” Barnes warned. “Does nobody think there’s gonna be any blowback from that? If he follows through on that, the whole world is screwed.”
Despite some conservative figures aligning with Jones’ perspective, backlash emerged from Trump loyalist Laura Loomer, who condemned his remarks as “an incredible act of disloyalty.”
“Disgusting. They are spewing the same talking points as the left,” she criticized on X.
