Illinois Governor Obliterates Trump Over ‘Disgraceful’ Renovation Projects
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (D) slammed President Donald Trump’s multi-million dollar renovation projects in Washington, calling them “disgraceful” during a heated exchange with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.
Collins pressed Pritzker on whether he would reverse Trump’s changes to the Oval Office and East Wing if he runs for president in 2028. Pritzker didn’t hold back: “Absolutely,” he declared, condemning Trump for “literally tearing down traditions of Washington, D.C., [and] of the White House.”
Pritzker specifically targeted Trump’s proposed arch, stating, “The reality is that we need to restore not only the traditions of Washington but most importantly, the values that belong in the Oval Office itself.”
He emphasized the need for a new president who embodies “honesty, integrity and importantly, kindness and empathy into the job.”
The governor then launched a direct attack on Trump’s mental fitness, referencing ongoing concerns about the 80-year-old's cognitive health. “The man is continually suffering from dementia. I don’t think he really understands what he’s saying,” Pritzker asserted.
He pointed out Trump’s history of threats against political figures, including the mayor of Chicago and the governor of Illinois, as evidence of his deteriorating mental state.
In a twist, Collins read a statement from the White House that mocked Pritzker’s mental faculties, labeling him “a certifiable loser who has done a terrible job running his state.” The statement claimed, “Everybody sees it clearly except for him. He must have dementia.”
Pritzker, while noting he’s “not a doctor,” reiterated his concerns about Trump: “He regularly threatens to go after people and indeed has used the Department of Justice to go after people.”
When pressed further on his diagnosis of Trump, Pritzker highlighted the stark contrast in Trump’s responses to questions during his first term compared to now. “I really think that there’s something genuinely wrong with him,” he concluded.
