“Incredibly Stupid” Knicks Fan Steals Trash Can, Dumps Garbage on NYC Streets
An “incredibly stupid” woman was filmed stealing a blue and orange Knicks trash can in New York City, creating a viral sensation.
Decked out in Knicks colors—an orange hat, blue shirt, and jean shorts—she dumped a pile of trash onto the sidewalk before marching off with the can as horrified onlookers watched.
She was later seen joining another person in Knicks attire, but it remains unclear if they were together.
“They’ll be listed on Facebook Marketplace as ‘Rare Vintage Knicks Memorabilia’ for $450 by tonight. Honestly, trying to lug a giant public sanitation bin onto the MTA during rush hour is peak New York dedication,” one user commented on the video.

Another user pointed out, “Girl this is Theft lol.”
The exact timing of the incident is unknown. The New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) and clothing brand Only NY collaborated to release hand-painted mesh wire trash cans to celebrate the Knicks NBA championship ahead of a ticker-tape parade.
“Dumping trash onto the street and stealing public property for your own personal use are both illegal, antisocial behaviors, and not what New Yorkers do. On top of all that, doing both on camera is incredibly stupid,” the DSNY stated regarding the clip.
The NYPD reported no complaints about the incident and had no comment on any investigation.

After the announcement of the trash cans, speculation ran rampant online about their potential theft by overzealous fans eager to claim a piece of history.
“Streets are about to be filled with garbage because all of these are 100% getting stolen,” one user predicted in a now-prophetic post.
This isn’t the first instance of Knicks fans behaving poorly following the team’s NBA title win.
An X-rated brawl erupted at The Canyon of Heroes when a woman climbed a streetlight pole and threw another woman sitting on a perch to the ground.

The displaced woman then yanked down her rival’s pants, revealing an orange Knicks thong, and repeatedly punched her buttocks while twerking.
The night of the Knicks’ historic win—their first championship in 53 years—New York streets descended into chaos.
Reports indicated 63 arrests, four stabbings, and one shooting occurred amid the mayhem that followed the victory.
Shocking footage captured a mob destroying yellow school buses parked in Times Square, intended to transport soccer fans to MetLife Stadium, with one bus set ablaze.
