Jelly Roll's Shocking Career Shift Amidst Divorce Chaos
Jelly Roll is making waves by returning to late-night television just days after filing for divorce from Bunnie Xo.

The country music star joins a lineup of guest hosts for "Jimmy Kimmel Live" while Kimmel takes a two-month break. Kimmel, 58, announced his voluntary hiatus, a stark contrast to the previous time his show was yanked over controversial remarks regarding Charlie Kirk’s death.

“We have assembled a potent group of hosts to fill in for me,” Kimmel stated, revealing the roster that includes Tiffany Haddish, Coleman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz, Anthony Anderson, and Jelly Roll.

Jelly, born Jason DeFord, previously stepped in as guest host for two episodes in July 2025. This new role comes just three days after the “Save Me” singer filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo, whose real name is Alisa Carter, after a decade-long marriage.

According to court documents, Jelly listed their separation date as May 9 and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. Movers were seen outside their Tennessee home last Monday, signaling the end of their shared life.

Bunnie, 46, opened up about the explosive fight on Mother’s Day that led her to demand Jelly file for divorce. She claimed their struggles with IVF had taken a significant toll on their relationship.

Despite the breakup, Bunnie confirmed that Jelly is already dating again, yet they both remain committed to trying for a baby together.

During his performance in Saratoga Springs, NY, as part of his Little ASS Shed Tour, Jelly addressed the split. He emphasized that he and Bunnie are “best friends” and will always share that bond. “She will probably be the only woman I will ever love the way I loved her,” he declared.

He also took the opportunity to quash rumors of infidelity being the cause of their divorce.
