John Travolta Struts Another Quirky Beret at Cannes After Facing Online Backlash

John Travolta is not backing down from his eccentric headwear choices, and the Cannes Film Festival is his runway.

The 72-year-old actor rocked yet another beret during the photocall for his latest flick, “Propeller One-Way Night Coach,” on Saturday. Dressed in an all-black ensemble, he paired a classic black beret with a velvet button-down shirt, slim-fit pants, and stylish boots, striking a pose with arms wide open for the cameras.

With wire-rimmed glasses perched on his nose and facial hair dyed to match, Travolta’s new look has fans doing a double-take. This isn’t the suave Danny Zuko they remember.

Just a day earlier, he stirred up a frenzy at the festival’s premiere, donning a slouchy cream wool beret and a tailored suit. The red carpet was ablaze as he posed alongside his 26-year-old daughter, Ella, who dazzled in a stunning black gown adorned with diamonds.

“Propeller One-Way Night Coach” tells the story of Jeff, a young aviation enthusiast, and his mother embarking on a one-way trip to Hollywood. Ella takes on the role of a flight attendant in this adventurous tale.

Travolta took to Instagram to share his excitement about receiving an honorary Cannes Palme d’Or, akin to a lifetime achievement award. “I’ve never been more proud to win an award!” he exclaimed. “To me, the Cannes Palme d’Or award has always represented art at its finest. It is beyond a humbling experience.”

His affinity for berets has become quite the trend lately. In an Instagram clip with Ella posted Friday, he sported an all-blue outfit complete with a matching blue beret, proving he’s not afraid to make bold fashion statements.

Ella is the daughter of Travolta and his late wife, Kelly Preston, who tragically passed away from breast cancer in 2020 at the age of 57. The couple also had two sons: Ben, 15, and Jett, who died at 16 after suffering a seizure during a family vacation in 2009.

Last month, Travolta proudly showcased a photo of his look-alike daughter at the Fashion Trust US Awards in Los Angeles, where she turned heads in a chic black Blumarine dress with a high neck. “Look out for Ella in my directorial debut, ‘Propeller One-Way Night Coach,’” he teased.
