Kash Patel’s Girlfriend Goes Nuclear Over Ethics Firestorm Tied to Trump Fair
Alexis Wilkins, the girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel, erupted on social media, defending her scheduled performance at President Donald Trump’s state fair amid a wave of backlash that has seen multiple stars bail out.
Wilkins, a country singer, announced her participation in the Great American State Fair on June 24, labeling the invitation a “great honor.”
This fair, running from June 25 through July 10, is organized by Freedom 250, a public-private partnership established by Trump to commemorate America’s semiquincentennial. The event promises musical acts, military ensembles, flyovers, and a Ferris wheel, alongside a replica of Trump’s proposed victory arch.
However, momentum for this patriotic spectacle is waning. A slew of artists, including Young MC, Morris Day, and The Commodores, have distanced themselves from the event, citing its overt political tone as their reason for withdrawal. Additionally, several blue states have opted out of participation this month.
On Tuesday, Sara Higdon from the Post Millennial raised eyebrows over Wilkins’ performance, questioning on X: “Does having the FBI director’s girlfriend getting paid by the taxpayers to perform violate federal ethics laws?”

Wilkins, familiar with the controversy surrounding her relationship with Patel, fired back with a lengthy post dismissing what she termed “sham accusations.”
“Let’s just get a few things straight, because this is long overdue,” she stated on X.
“I have been a country music artist for years now,” she asserted. “I was invited to sing this anthem on my own accord, as I have been many other places throughout my career.”
She claimed she would not be compensated for her appearance and insisted that the “National Mall celebrations” do not rely on taxpayer funding.
“You would think, as a journalist, this would be something she would know or at least look into,” Wilkins complained. “I'm no longer accepting false narratives and total sham accusations that diminish my hard work and earned accomplishments, so please expect this kind of response to continue.”
Contrary to her claims, Freedom 250 has received $80 million in public funding, as reported by NOTUS. This organization was created by Trump despite Congress already establishing a bipartisan commission for the semiquincentennial celebrations.

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey highlighted the misuse of taxpayer dollars when announcing her state’s withdrawal from participation.
“This guy tries to get money into his pocket any which way,” she remarked earlier this month regarding Trump. “He invited all the states to participate and wants to charge us to go down and put something on his exhibit; whatever he’s creating for Freedom 250 is just ridiculous. This is taxpayer money.”
Last year, Wilkins faced scrutiny after MS NOW reported that her boyfriend had assigned her an FBI SWAT team as a security detail.
Wilkins is currently suing the outlet for “knowingly or recklessly” spreading “false allegations.”
She has also previously taken legal action against right-wing influencers over conspiracy theories claiming she is a “honeypot” agent for Israeli intelligence.
Patel has been embroiled in ongoing controversy during his time in office, including mass firings at the bureau and using a government plane for personal travel. He has consistently dismissed criticism and stated he remains focused on his work.
