Katy Perry Ditches Exes on Stage, Embraces Justin Trudeau with Open Arms

Katy Perry made it clear she’s not looking back at her past relationships while headlining the O Son do Camiño festival in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

The 41-year-old pop star took the stage on June 18, playfully engaging with a giant prop cellphone as she belted out her hit “Never Really Over.” Fan footage captured the moment she received calls from her exes, but she showed zero interest in answering. The screen flashed initials like “JM” for John Mayer, “RB” for Russell Brand, and “OB” for Orlando Bloom, alongside Diplo’s name.

In a twist, Perry eagerly accepted a call from “JPJT,” whose profile photo featured a red heart and Canadian flag emoji. This was a clear nod to her current boyfriend, Justin Pierre James Trudeau.

Perry recently celebrated her romance with Trudeau, making their red carpet debut at the New York City premiere of her concert movie, The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris, on June 8. She expressed her feelings about their relationship, stating, “I am very in love,” after completing 91 shows on her tour.

She described Trudeau as the “love of my life,” emphasizing how their relationship has grounded her. “I’m a little bit like a rainbow kite — I fly super high. Sometimes I need to be anchored,” she said, highlighting the stability he brings to her life.

During a June 17 appearance on the “Unfamous” podcast, Perry elaborated on how love has transformed her. “I have love in my life now. That’s transformed me,” she stated, reflecting on the evolution of her songwriting. She quoted The Beatles, asserting that clichés hold truth: “You think when The Beatles say, ‘All you need is love,’ it’s a cliché? Clichés are clichés for a reason.”

Perry also touched on her personal growth, mentioning her astrological placements. “I’m constantly in transformation,” she said. “I’m constantly rebirthing, constantly transforming, constantly, you know, phoenix to ashes, then hopefully eagle.”

The singer began dating Trudeau in the summer of 2025 after parting ways with Bloom, with whom she shares a daughter named Daisy Dove.

Reflecting on her past relationship with Bloom, Perry admitted last year was challenging. “I don’t typically feel like a victim — you can hear it in my songs — but last year was pretty tough,” she revealed. Instead of succumbing to victimhood, she chose to confront her pain head-on: “Let’s just feel this f***ing pain, let’s feel this anger, and let’s move on.”
