Katy Perry is furious after the White House hijacked her iconic track for a TikTok video glorifying military aggression against Iran.
The pop star unleashed her outrage on social media, condemning the Trump administration for using her song "Firework" to push a message of "celebrating warfare." She stated, "I am deeply appalled and angry to see 'Firework' used on the @WhiteHouse TikTok account as a backing track for video footage of military strikes. I did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it."
This backlash follows a renewed feud with the former president, who has been the target of her scorn in the past.
Perry emphasized that she wrote the song as an anthem of hope and healing, not as a soundtrack for destruction. "To see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponized to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for," she declared.

"My music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare," she added, making her stance crystal clear.
The controversial TikTok, posted on July 23, featured her 2010 hit over a montage of explosive military footage, captioned "Iran has been warned."
Supporters quickly rallied behind Perry, expressing solidarity with her outrage. One user suggested legal action, stating, "Your legal team or Capitol Records can file a standard Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notice directly to TikTok." They noted that TikTok typically responds swiftly to high-profile takedown requests.
Another user expressed their anger with a more extreme sentiment: "Let’s go burn the White House down mother... they can’t do this to you."

Critics on TikTok slammed the video itself, with comments like, "Our country is a joke. This account is a disgrace. War is not something to be celebrated." Another remarked, "This is such an inhumane thing to do I hope she sues y’all."
One user lamented the state of the administration: "Why can’t we have a normal administration? Like a respectable administration. How embarrassing." Another added, "This country lacks any decorum or humanity; it’s f------ shameful."
One final comment captured the gravity of the situation: "People are dying because of this war. American people included. And you’re posting it to party tunes like it’s all a big joke. Vile."
The White House has yet to remove the post or respond to Perry's public condemnation.
