Kesha's Wild Accessory: A Placenta Necklace That Packs a Punch

Kesha just dropped a bombshell that’s got everyone talking. Forget designer handbags; the pop sensation carries her placenta everywhere she goes.

On the May 6 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, hosted by Alex Cooper, the 39-year-old star opened up about her eccentricities. After a chat about her quirky habit of collecting teeth to craft into jewelry, Cooper innocently asked if Kesha was toting around a tooth. “Oh, no,” Kesha shot back. “That's my placenta.”

Cooper’s jaw nearly hit the floor. “Wait, what?” she exclaimed, clearly taken aback. Kesha then rummaged around, only to declare, “I lost my placenta on your couch.”

“Oh my God. Where is your placenta?” Cooper asked, half-joking but genuinely concerned. “You were holding it. Maybe it went down into the crevices?”

As they searched in vain, Kesha elaborated on her unique piece of jewelry. “So your placenta supposedly gives you second sight, helps open your third eye,” she explained, attributing this wisdom to her mother. “She stuck it in the oven, put it in a box, and found it when I was like 21 years old in the basement.”

Doctors at Kesha’s birth hospital tried to toss her placenta, but her mom wasn’t having it. “She fought for that, so now I carry it around,” Kesha said with pride.

“We found it,” Kesha said triumphantly about the placenta that had been stashed away. “Throw it in the blender, pop it in a necklace. Work!” And just like that, she showcased her placenta necklace—a gold heart-shaped pendant that’s as bizarre as it is bold.

Why does she carry this unusual accessory? Kesha explained, “I love a good ritual. Right? Like, I'm a cult leader… I just love a ritual that reminds me of this esoteric world I prefer to live in. Down here on Earth? Boring. But when I go up with my spirit guides and the whole realm of angels? That’s where I prefer to be. It’s kind of fun.”

The “We R Who We R” singer isn’t just about placentas; she also collects teeth for art and jewelry. “It just reminds me when I have a little piece of the people I love,” she said. “I’ve been collecting them for a while now… My cats had to get their little teeth taken out because they were I don’t know. They’re little kitty wisdom teeth. I collect those too. I’m like the tooth fairy.”
