Kid Rock Displays Army Helicopter Footage Above His Residence, Military Launches Inquiry

Mar 31 2026

Kid Rock shared a video on social media featuring U.S. Army Apache helicopters flying low over his property in Nashville, prompting an official investigation.

The 101st Airborne Division, based in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, clarified that the two AH-64 Apache helicopters were conducting routine training in the area on March 28, coinciding with the No Kings protests occurring that day. Their presence was described as "entirely coincidental," according to a spokesperson.

In the videos posted to X, the 55-year-old musician can be seen saluting and cheering as one helicopter hovers near his pool before departing. He captioned one of the posts with a jab at California Governor Gavin Newsom, stating, "This is a level of respect that s--- for brains Governor of California will never know. God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her."

The spokesperson emphasized that the 101st Airborne Division upholds rigorous standards for aviation safety and compliance with flight regulations. "We take all concerns regarding aircraft operations and their impact on the surrounding community seriously," they stated.

Maj. Montrell Russell from the Army confirmed that an administrative review has commenced to evaluate the mission and ensure adherence to regulations and airspace requirements. "The Army is aware of a video circulating online that appears to show AH‑64 Apache helicopters operating in the vicinity of a private residence in the Nashville area," he noted.

Russell added that if any violations are discovered, the Army will take "appropriate action." The inquiry reflects the military's commitment to maintaining safety and professionalism in its operations.

On the same day, the third nationwide No Kings protest unfolded, with millions marching against President Donald Trump and his administration. Organized by the No Kings Coalition, these protests represent a collective of progressive groups opposing the current administration's policies.

Kid Rock has been an outspoken supporter of Trump and a critic of Newsom for several years. Recently, he headlined Turning Point USA’s All-American Halftime Show, an alternative event to the Super Bowl Halftime Show featuring Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Bad Bunny, which drew criticism from conservative circles.

His close ties with Trump are evident through multiple visits to the White House and shared golf outings during Trump's presidency.
