Lara Trump’s Fashion Choices Spark Kitchen Curtain Comparisons in China
Lara Trump is turning heads in China, but not all the attention is flattering. As she accompanies Donald Trump on his high-stakes diplomatic mission, her fashion choices have become a hot topic of debate.
The 43-year-old Fox News personality joined the U.S. delegation in Beijing this week, where her husband met with Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss trade and global tensions. For the occasion, Lara donned a classic blue polka dot dress, later switching to a chic white polka dot ensemble upon arrival. But social media users had other ideas.
Critics wasted no time in mocking her wardrobe. One user quipped, “Who wore it better: Lara Trump in China or the bedding from her hotel room?” Another chimed in, “Definitely the bedding in her hotel room. Hands-down.” The comparisons didn’t stop there; one account suggested, “For some reason Lara Trump keeps wearing polka dots in China. Maybe she’s remembering her kitchen curtains or the measles outbreak caused by RFK Jr.”

Yet, not everyone was throwing shade. Some fans praised her style as “pretty” and “classy,” showing that opinions were as divided as the political landscape.
Before boarding Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews, Lara shared a cheerful selfie with husband Eric Trump and other key figures, captioning it “Team CHYYYYYNA.”
During a lavish state dinner at the Great Hall of the People, Lara made a striking impression in traditional Chinese attire. The body-hugging gown featured a warm brown base adorned with oversized daisy blooms in white, blush, and cream, complete with a high mandarin collar and short cap sleeves.

Fans quickly took to social media to applaud her embrace of local fashion. Comments like “That gold outfit totally stands out” and “Finally someone dressing appropriately for the occasion” flooded in, with one user declaring, “The qipao is stunning on her.”
The extravagant state banquet hosted by Xi Jinping showcased traditional cuisine and performances, with reports highlighting a menu that included roast duck and beef ribs.
Lara’s prominent role during this trip has sparked speculation about her rising influence within Trump’s inner circle. Seen walking closely alongside both Donald Trump and Xi Jinping during public appearances, she’s clearly stepping into a more visible position within the family’s political operations.
This visit marks Trump’s first presidential trip to Beijing in nearly nine years, and notably, First Lady Melania Trump did not accompany him.
