Lauren Conrad Declares an End to Reality TV After 'Laguna Beach' Reunion

Apr 06 2026

Lauren Conrad has made it clear: her return to television for the Laguna Beach reunion marks the end of her reality TV journey. After two decades, she’s ready to close that chapter.

In a candid conversation with co-star Kristin Cavallari on the April 7 episode of the Dear Media podcast Let’s Be Honest, the 40-year-old Conrad reflected on her decision to reunite with her former castmates. “I would love to put a pin in my career… it would be really cool to end my career with the same people I started it with,” she shared.

“The same group of people I started with, I can also say goodbye with ... it felt clean,” she continued, trailing off as Cavallari interjected, “...hang up that entertainment hat.”

Both women first appeared on Laguna Beach in 2004, with Conrad later starring in The Hills until her departure in 2009, when Cavallari took over. The nostalgia of their reunion is palpable.

The Roku Channel is set to stream The Reunion: Laguna Beach on April 10, featuring an emotional trailer that opens with Conrad and Cavallari by a fire, noting they’ve “never had a conversation on camera, just the two of us.”

In this special, the cast engages in a heartfelt discussion with comedian Casey Wilson, revisiting high school rivalries and memories from over twenty years ago.

During her chat with Cavallari, Conrad confirmed that this reunion will be her last foray into reality television. “This is for sure your last thing?” Cavallari asked. “God I hope so,” Conrad replied.

Expressing her lack of nostalgia for reality TV, Conrad stated, “I feel so lucky because you know, it can go a lot of ways when you've been in entertainment for a long time. And I think a lot of people really miss it. And I didn't.”

“I enjoyed it while I had it,” she added. “We had fun and I'm really grateful for the opportunity and I know that, because I did all that, I'm able to live the life I live now. But I love just being with my fam and my friends and living a quieter life.”

On March 26, the Laguna Beach stars gathered at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, California, celebrating their reunion special. Conrad spoke exclusively about reconciling with Cavallari on the red carpet. “I think it was great,” she remarked. “It was part of what we wanted to show is that we've all grown, we're all adults, a lot of us are parents. And I think that as you get older, you're not worried about the small stuff.”
