Lindsey Graham Ridiculed After Awkward Comment on Trump
During a recent Fox News segment, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) found himself at the center of social media ridicule after what many labeled a Freudian slip regarding President Donald Trump.
Graham was discussing the U.S.-Israeli military actions against Iran, which commenced over the weekend, leading to the death of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the loss of six American soldiers.
In his remarks, he criticized European nations expressing concern over these operations, specifically targeting Spain for its refusal to permit the use of joint U.S. air bases in the strikes.
“To my European friends, you have lost your way,” Graham stated emphatically.
As a steadfast supporter of Trump, he urged European leaders to “embrace the protesters” opposing the Iranian regime, claiming they embody “the best of humanity.”
Then came his rhetorical question, which sparked immediate backlash:
Critics quickly pounced on his wording, interpreting it as an inadvertent suggestion that the ayatollah could be viewed as a preferable option compared to Trump.
One critic quipped, “In a contest of who is worse for the world, if the Ayatollah finished third, that would quite literally mean he's the best for the world. @LindseyGrahamSC, you're a monumental dumbass.”
