MAGA Influencer Under Fire for 'Cringe' White House Selfie Video: 'Grow the Fu** Up'

Benny Johnson, a prominent MAGA influencer, stirred controversy on Tuesday by praising President Donald Trump for relocating former President Barack Obama’s official portrait from a central position in the White House to a less conspicuous spot at the top of the Grand Staircase.
In a selfie video that critics have labeled “cringe as f**k,” the 38-year-old YouTuber, who has previously referred to Trump as “daddy,” highlighted the new placement of the portrait. “Y’all have to see what Trump has done with the Obama portrait at the White House,” he posted on X.

With a direct gaze into the camera, Johnson remarked, “Funniest thing what Trump has done with the Barack Obama portrait, check this out.” He then switched to the back camera, showcasing the Grand Foyer where the Obama portrait used to be prominently displayed, before panning up the staircase to reveal its new, seemingly hidden location.
Critics quickly condemned Johnson for indulging in what they described as “high school drama,” labeling him a “little suck up” for celebrating the portrait’s removal. One user pointed out that at 79 years old, Trump is “acting like a petulant child” by continuing to provoke Obama. “Grow the f**k up,” they concluded.
While attending St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at the White House with his wife, Johnson documented their experience in another video featuring his “Irish girl.” He also shared clips of them enjoying an “Irish spread” and clinking glasses of Guinness beer.
Johnson’s past includes being fired from BuzzFeed in 2014 due to multiple instances of plagiarism. Last year, he aligned with former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) in arguing against U.S. intervention in foreign affairs.
Despite his criticisms of foreign policy, he posed for a photo with his wife in front of a painting depicting Trump as a hero. This comes amid ongoing conflict with Iran, which has resulted in the deaths of at least 13 U.S. military personnel and over 1,400 Iranians, including many innocent children.
In addition to relocating Obama’s portrait, Trump has replaced former President Joe Biden’s image with a photo of an autopen, mocking Biden’s reported use of the device while in office. He has also ordered plaques insulting previous presidents to adorn the walls.
