Morris Day just torpedoed the MAGA music festival with a last-minute withdrawal, leaving Donald Trump scrambling for support. The Great American State Fair lineup was unveiled on Instagram, but the absence of major names like Nicki Minaj and Kid Rock raised eyebrows.
The event is set to take place at the National Mall in Washington, DC, from June 25 through July 10. Vanilla Ice and Flo Rida were confirmed, but Morris Day and The Time were also listed—until Morris dropped the bombshell that he won’t be performing.
His announcement came hot on the heels of a doctor’s report detailing Trump’s 'painful and disabling' chronic disease following a three-hour hospital visit. Morris took to social media to clarify his status, stating, “Contrary to rumor, Morris Day and The Time will not be performing at the 'Great American State Fair.'”
Fans reacted with relief. One user expressed, “I just let out a giant sigh of relief.” Another chimed in, “You wouldn’t be so un C-O-O-L.”
“THANK YOU FOR CLARIFYING!!!!!!!” another fan exclaimed, while someone else said, “Oh man I fell over when I saw the poster. Thank God... I thought ol Morris was a red hatter.”
Despite the excitement surrounding acts like The Commodores and Vanilla Ice, Kid Rock’s absence looms large. He’s currently on his Rock The Country tour, with performances lined up through September 12. His next stop is Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on June 27.
Freedom 250’s Instagram post touted the festival as a grand celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, featuring acts like Martina McBride, Young MC, C+C Music Factory, and Milli Vanilli. They urged followers to “RSVP now,” promoting a lineup that promised to deliver hits across 16 days and 56 states and territories.
As Trump parades a Melania lookalike through the White House, declaring her 'love' for him, the festival faces a chaotic start with Morris Day’s abrupt exit.
