Mary Bonnet Unleashes Fury Over Chelsea Feud Backlash Amid Career Fallout
Mary Bonnet's world flipped upside down after a brutal feud with Chelsea Lazkani, leading to an avalanche of backlash that left her reeling.
“It had been very, very bad,” Mary, 45, stated, revealing the emotional toll it took on her while she focused on animal advocacy.
She fought tooth and nail against production throughout the season, desperate to control how her conflict with Chelsea, 33, was portrayed. “I could see what they were doing. I was like, ‘Don’t you dare allow that narrative to start or even creep in there,’” she declared, adamant about not being misrepresented.
After viewing the final cut of season 9, Mary was left in disbelief. “I was like, ‘I can’t believe they did this.’ They cut out a lot of stuff,” she lamented. The editing made her appear to be overreacting, but she was grappling with a recent burglary and sleepless nights due to ongoing robberies in her neighborhood.
Season 9 kicked off with Mary and Chelsea at odds. Following a burglary at Mary’s home, Chelsea sent flowers and a note, a moment captured on camera.
Mary questioned the timing and authenticity of Chelsea’s gesture. She speculated whether producers tipped Chelsea off about the robbery to create drama during filming.
“I probably did overreact to some stuff but there were actual things that happened that no one knows about,” Mary hinted. “There’s a lot that happened that people don’t know but I have never been turned on like that after the show.”

She expressed deep frustration over the backlash, stating, “It’s something that to my core is the opposite of who I am and it is what I despise.” The harassment persisted for three months, making it difficult for her to leave her home. “I had to turn off all comments,” she added.
The fallout from the feud severely impacted her career. “I lost a bunch of brand deals and I lost all kinds of stuff because of the negativity. I lost clients,” she revealed. Some clients even requested she remove herself from listings due to harassment stemming from a false narrative.
Mary felt abandoned by her co-stars during this turmoil. “They didn’t want them to talk about it. Because the cast was going to do a joint statement [and it was shut down],” she explained.
After leaving the show before season 10, Mary has retreated from the public eye. “I don’t go out and seek attention — even on social media,” she stated. “If there’s something I want to promote then great. But otherwise I don’t need to go on social media just to cause problems or just to get views.”
Now, Mary channels her energy into raising awareness for dog fostering and adoption. “There’s many, many ways that people can help either by fostering, adopting or with donations to the rescues,” she urged. “Because shelters are not allocating the funds to the dogs. There’s a huge crisis.”
She emphasized the importance of volunteering at shelters, even if it’s just taking photos or videos of animals to help them find homes.
Mary’s passion for rescue work stems from her concerns about kill shelters. “There’s a big misconception that shelter dogs are damaged. They are the most appreciative and loving animals,” she asserted. “Even if it is just to foster for two weeks. They are so appreciative and so loving and they just want kindness and love.”
“We need people’s help. Whatever people can do to need help — even if it’s just raising awareness themselves or reposting a dog if you see one that’s still available,” she concluded. “You don’t know who will see it.”
