Medics Rushed to Lindsey Graham’s Home as Heart Attack Strikes Before Shocking Death
Emergency medics were dispatched to South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham's Washington, DC, residence after reports of severe chest pains, escalating into a heart attack that preceded his sudden death on Saturday night.
Audio from the emergency medical response reveals a call made around 8:30 p.m. regarding a person experiencing chest pains at Graham's $890,000 Capitol Hill townhouse.
Preliminary findings from the DC medical examiner indicate Graham died from a ruptured aorta due to chronic heart disease, as confirmed by his office late Sunday.

Approximately 25 minutes after the initial 911 call, emergency personnel reported that CPR was in progress, and a man at the residence was in cardiac arrest.
Medical responders attempted to stabilize Graham before transporting him to the hospital on Saturday night.
The emergency call originated from a person in Baltimore en route to Graham's home, who reported that someone inside was suffering from severe chest pains, according to the dispatch audio.
The dispatcher noted the caller believed the front door was unlocked; however, first responders found the door dead-bolted, creating a brief delay for medical personnel trying to enter the house.

The call does not confirm the cause of the senator’s death.
FBI Director Kash Patel stated that the bureau "is assisting local authorities and has made every necessary resource available."
Graham's unexpected death at age 71 occurred just one day after he returned from Ukraine—his 10th visit since the war began. He has been a vocal advocate for supporting Kyiv and imposing sanctions on Russia.

He faced threats from the Iranian regime, with supporters displaying images of him with a target on his head during Khamenei's funeral last week.
A neighbor captured images of an older man being transported from Graham’s residence on a wheeled stretcher and loaded into an ambulance around 9:30 p.m.
Graham was subsequently taken to George Washington University Hospital.
The medical examiner's findings indicated he appeared to have died from "Aortic Dissection due to Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease." This rare condition involves a tear in the body's main artery and predominantly affects older men, according to medical sources.

The medical examiner’s office stated, “The death certificate will be PENDING until all the toxicological and microscopic testing are finalized and at that point the death certificate will be updated to reflect the cause of death and appropriately classify the manner of death.”
Graham was scheduled to appear on NBC's "Meet The Press" on Sunday, and a staff member reported no indications of him being unwell prior to his death.
His office expressed that his family “appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period.”
Graham never married or had children.
