Meghan Markle Dazzles in Chartreuse at Netflix Bash: ‘Craving the Spotlight’

Apr 14 2026

Meghan Markle made a bold statement in chartreuse.

At a Netflix celebration for the second season of “Beef” on Friday night, the Duchess of Sussex donned a striking color that ensured she was the center of attention.

While the event's dress code remains unclear, most attendees opted for classic black and white attire, with the exception of guest of honor Carey Mulligan.

Mulligan, who stars in the eagerly awaited series, turned heads in a lime green ensemble by Christopher John Rogers.

Markle, sporting a matching hue in a chartreuse gown by Heidi Merick priced at $715, was one of the few to embrace such a vibrant palette, drawing comparisons to Mulligan.

Her choice of brown Jimmy Choo heeled sandals added to the conversation, with some critics labeling it a fashion misstep. “She must have asked what kind of dress the star was wearing, and then managed to find the ugliest dress in the same color,” remarked one Twitter user, suggesting that Markle “wants all the attention on her.”

Despite the chatter, sources indicate there was “no dress code related to color,” and the similar outfits were merely coincidental, showcasing two women embracing the season’s trend.

Prince Harry accompanied Markle, dressed in a dark suit and white shirt without a tie, adding to the couple's public profile.

The event attracted notable figures including co-stars Oscar Isaac and Charles Melton, as well as Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and his wife, Nicole Avant, who shared an affectionate hug with Markle.

This appearance follows a challenging period for Markle and Netflix; the streaming giant recently opted not to renew her show “With Love, Meghan,” and ended their partnership with her lifestyle brand. Additionally, Sarandos unfollowed her on Instagram, further fueling speculation about their relationship.

Compounding matters, Prince Harry is currently embroiled in a lawsuit involving his former charity Sentebale, adding another layer of complexity to their public engagements.
