“I am getting a divorce,” Mikayla Matthews lip-synced in a TikTok video, humorously addressing her recent split from husband Jace Terry. The star of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” showcased her playful side while dipping Taco Bell fries into cheese sauce, a lighthearted moment amid serious life changes.

Posted on Sunday, the video features Matthews mouthing the words to an audio clip by influencer Mikayla Noguiera, as Terry casually walked behind her. “Take a minute. Take it in,” she added, blending humor with the gravity of her situation.

At 26, Matthews captioned the video with a cheeky nod to her fast-food affection: “Sorry taco bell is my only true love 😚🫶🏼 @Jace Terry.” This comes shortly after she announced their separation following eight years of marriage.

In a confessional during Season 4 of the Hulu reality show, Matthews revealed, “We both agreed to do a separation.” The couple's storyline this season has delved into Matthews' past trauma and their struggles with intimacy.

“It’s so incredible that everyone’s getting these opportunities and going out and living their dreams, but my health has held me back from saying yes to a lot of opportunities,” she shared, referencing her ongoing battle with chronic inflammatory response syndrome and postpartum issues. “It’s definitely discouraging and frustrating,” she continued, noting how these challenges have impacted her marriage.

Throughout the season, Matthews recognized the need to confront her childhood sexual abuse to improve her relationship with Terry. “I feel like I’m working on so many different things outside of just sex,” she explained to her best friend Mayci Neeley. “We both get to a point where we feel really helpless about it.”

In a poignant moment, Matthews packed her belongings and moved out of their shared home, leaving behind their four children: Beckham, 8, Haven, 6, Tommie, 4, and Lottie June, 8 months.

Just hours after news of their separation broke, Matthews took to social media to poke fun at her “downfall,” showcasing her resilience through humor.
