Post Malone has yanked six tour dates from his schedule, leaving fans in the lurch after failing to finish his new album on time.
The country star, legally known as Austin Richard Post, announced the abrupt cancellation of his Big A-- Stadium Tour Part 2 with Jelly Roll. The axed shows include stops in El Paso, Waco, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Tampa, and Oxford.
This decision came on the heels of Jelly Roll facing intense backlash for remarks that many interpreted as pro-MAGA. Post Malone claimed this wasn’t the reason for the cancellations, instead blaming poor time management.
In a message to fans, the 30-year-old singer stated, "Looking at the upcoming schedule after stagecoach, I came to the realization that what we were trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up." He admitted he couldn’t deliver new music before the tour kicks off.
He added, "We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done." He expressed regret for those who planned to attend the canceled shows, stating he was eager to perform.
Post Malone also apologized to ticket holders and expressed excitement for his upcoming album titled The Eternal Buzz. This will be his seventh studio album, featuring 40 songs split into two discs.
Following the announcement, fans took to Reddit to voice their frustrations over the cancellations and Post Malone's association with Jelly Roll.
One critic remarked, "I’m sorry? You’re pushing back a tour because you didn’t finish your new music? How are you going to know any of it for the tour? Kind of sounds like the music is being rushed too." Another chimed in, "I just would have more respect for these artists if they were upfront and said 'Hey. This didn’t pan out like we expected and we haven’t filled enough seats.'"
Another user pointed out the disconnect: "People are poor, can’t afford food... and you are touring with a MAGA artist. We need to be a little smarter, Mr. Malone."
Yet another critic slammed the excuses: "The excuses for these artists are annoying as f--k. 'I’m not ready yet. I’m still making music.' Then don’t f-----g plan a tour."
