Raskin Demands Trump’s Medical Secrets Amidst 22-Doctor Mystery
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) is not holding back as he digs deeper into President Donald Trump’s health, demanding a full disclosure from the White House physician regarding the president's medications, the identities of his nearly two dozen doctors, and the findings from his latest physical exam.
“It has apparently taken 22 medical specialists to pronounce President Donald Trump in ‘excellent health,’” Raskin states in a letter directed to Captain Sean P. Barbabella, the president’s physician. He questions why a routine physical for someone supposedly in ‘excellent health’ necessitates a medical team that rivals a major league baseball roster.
On May 26, Trump spent three hours at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, marking his third visit to the facility in just over a year. Raskin highlights that Trump has admitted to taking 325 milligrams of aspirin daily—four times the standard dose—while also dealing with persistent hand bruising concealed by makeup and recurrent leg swelling.
“That does not sound like a patient in ‘excellent health,’” Raskin asserts.
Raskin has given the White House physician until July 2 to furnish the House committee with comprehensive details about Trump’s medical team and medications.
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle dismissed Raskin’s insinuations about Trump’s health. He labeled Raskin as “a stupid person’s idea of a smart person,” asserting that Trump’s sharpness and energy starkly contrast with what was seen during the previous administration, where Democrats allegedly concealed Joe Biden’s serious mental and physical decline.
In April, Raskin had already pressed the White House for results from Trump’s full cognitive exam following a profanity-laden Easter Sunday social media post where Trump threatened to bomb civilian infrastructure in Iran. He reiterates in his latest letter that the White House failed to comply with that request and demands action once more.
“Comply with my April 10, 2026, request by conducting and publicly releasing a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment of the President and making yourself available for a briefing, under oath, with Members of the Committee,” Raskin insists.
