Rihanna's Beverly Hills residence targeted by gunfire; suspect apprehended, LAPD reports

Gunfire erupted at the Beverly Hills residence of pop icon Rihanna on Sunday, leading to the swift arrest of a suspect, as confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, they apprehended a suspect without incident.

The individual, who parked a white Tesla outside Rihanna's home, discharged seven rounds before fleeing the scene. The vehicle was later located about eight miles away at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center, where the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect has not been publicly named.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. Police recovered the firearm used in the shooting and discovered seven casings from an assault rifle at the scene.

An LAPD spokesperson confirmed that the targeted property belongs to Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty.

On Monday, authorities identified the suspect as 35-year-old Ivanna Ortiz from Florida. She faces charges of attempted murder, with bail set at an astonishing $10.255 million.

As of now, investigators have not established a motive for the shooting.

It remains unclear whether anyone was present in the home during the incident.

Aerial footage captured multiple bullet holes in the gate surrounding the property. Police tape cordoned off the street leading to the residence as detectives continued their investigation.

Rihanna gained fame in the early 2000s with chart-topping hits like "Pon de Replay" and "Umbrella." Beyond her music career, she has built a business empire under her Fenty brand, which encompasses cosmetics, fashion, and lingerie. Since 2020, she has been in a relationship with rapper ASAP Rocky, and they share three children together. Notably, she announced her second pregnancy during the Super Bowl LVII halftime show.
