Rosie O’Donnell’s Facelift: From Awkward Comments to Shocking Transformation

Rosie O'Donnell, 64, faced a barrage of awkward inquiries about her looks that drove her to the operating table. “People in Ireland would say, ‘Are you upset, luv? What’s the matter, darling?’” she recounted at the 2026 Tony Awards.

The comedian's deep marionette lines, a result of significant weight loss from Mounjaro, sparked these clumsy comments. O'Donnell had to clarify repeatedly that she wasn’t in a bad mood, stating, “No, it’s just my face.”

Last month, she disclosed on social media that her facelift cost more than any car she’s ever owned. “And that feels almost shameful to me,” she admitted, grappling with the notion of excess.

O'Donnell had previously vowed never to undergo such a procedure, labeling facelifts a “betrayal” of feminism. However, the drastic change in her appearance after losing 50 pounds made her reconsider.

She reflected on her internal conflict: “I tried to be evolved about it and say things like, ‘This is natural. This is earned,’” but questioned how much “earned” should look.

In January, she found a trusted doctor who had worked on friends, ensuring she would still resemble herself—just less haunted. “I wanted to still be me, just… less haunted,” she explained.

The operation left her feeling rejuvenated. O'Donnell described her new look as a “slightly more well-rested, emotionally stable version” of herself.

Despite loving the results, she has no plans for another facelift. The comedian now resides in Ireland but will return to the U.S. this summer for her one-woman show, “Common Knowledge,” on Broadway.
