Seth Meyers Calls Out Trump and MAGA's ‘Outrageous and Unapologetic’ Narrative Shift
Seth Meyers took aim at Donald Trump on Thursday, highlighting the former president's unfulfilled promise to lower prices while mocking the MAGA movement's attempts to redirect blame as costs continue to climb amidst escalating tensions in Iran.
“The audacity of the lying is just unbelievable,” Meyers remarked. “They claimed they would reduce prices from day one. Now, they’re telling everyone to tough it out and stop panicking over rising costs linked to a war they instigated. And when pressed for solutions, they simply point fingers at others.”
In a segment, Meyers showcased Vice President JD Vance acknowledging the surge in gas prices, asserting that the administration was “doing everything we can to keep them lower,” labeling it a “temporary blip” — before shifting the blame to former President Joe Biden.
Meyers, visibly frustrated, retorted, “Are we still blaming Joe Biden? No one even recalls he was president. Even he seems to have forgotten halfway through the debate.”
Refocusing on the Trump administration, he continued:
“You all promised to lower prices, yet now you’re doing the exact opposite. You can’t pin this on Biden. Even your own supporters are pointing fingers at you.”
