Sharon Stone, the 68-year-old star of Basic Instinct, disclosed a harrowing incident where she was violently attacked in her own home by an acquaintance. The shocking revelation comes with the grim detail that she remained unaware of the full extent of her injuries for a decade.
Stone recounted the brutal moment on The Person Who Believed In Me podcast, stating she was struck from behind and found herself unconscious on the floor. Her home was left in disarray, with two couches turned sideways and a coffee table scattered across the room.
It wasn’t until years later that she sought medical help due to persistent pain in her neck and shoulders. She visited a clinic in Marina Del Rey, where doctors administered propofol and conducted extensive X-rays of her thoracic rib cage, neck, and spine.
The doctor delivered devastating news: “Your thoracic rib cage is all fractured and scarred back together. It’s clear that you were attacked and that what happened to you was a felony.”
When pressed by podcast host David Begnaud about the identity of her attacker, Stone refused to disclose any names. She stated, “I am not going to say publicly, but I am going to say that we did report and we did do everything.”
Despite having the opportunity to press charges, Stone opted against it due to the time elapsed and her status as a public figure. She expressed that she had enough circumstantial evidence to build a case but chose not to pursue it further, stating, “I did not want that to be my legacy.”
Begnaud inquired if the incident could be classified as domestic violence, but Stone remained tight-lipped, responding, “I’m not at liberty to say.”
