‘Shut Up About That S**t!’ Megyn Kelly Unleashes on Trump for Civilian Threat
Megyn Kelly unleashed her frustration on President Donald Trump this week, targeting his controversial “negotiation tactics” in the ongoing conflict with Iran. This outburst marks a notable moment as she critiques his extreme public statements.
During her SiriusXM radio show on Tuesday, Kelly expressed her exasperation, stating she was “sick of this nonsense.” Her comments were sparked by Trump’s alarming post on Truth Social, where he warned that “a whole civilization will die” if a deal with Iran wasn’t finalized by that evening.
“I’m fed up. Can’t he just act like a decent human being?” Kelly questioned. “Just shut up — seriously, shut up about that nonsense! You don’t threaten to annihilate an entire civilization. We’re discussing civilians here, and he casually throws this out on social media.”
Having faced Trump’s social media barbs herself, Kelly described her experiences as “a gift,” which allowed her to grasp his online tactics better. However, she did not hold back in condemning his threats regarding Iran, labeling them as “completely irresponsible and disgusting.” She added, “He should not be doing this.”
In a clip from her show, Kelly elaborated, “His negotiation strategy seems to involve the destruction of an entire nation filled with innocent people — men, women, and children — just to reopen the Strait of Hormuz? It’s fundamentally wrong. I wish he would cease this behavior. Can he not be a dignified leader without resorting to threats of war crimes?”
Kelly’s remarks came just hours before Trump announced a two-week ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran, contingent upon Iran reopening the crucial Strait of Hormuz, a vital passage for global oil supplies.
Others within Trump’s own MAGA base echoed Kelly’s disapproval of his threats. Far-right figure Alex Jones, who has been a staunch supporter of Trump, characterized the president’s rhetoric as that of “an unhinged super villain from a Marvel comic,” even suggesting that it might be time to invoke the 25th Amendment against him.
Despite her recent criticisms, Kelly appears to remain aligned with the Republican Party for the time being. “Honestly, Trump could launch a nuclear strike and I’d still vote Republican over those people,” she remarked on her show Monday, referring to Democrats. “What they propose is far worse for our country.”
