Stephen King Rips Into 'MAGAholics' Over Trump's Indifference to American Struggles
“Will you MAGA Trumpaholics never learn?” Stephen King fired off on social media, targeting die-hard supporters of the former president with a scathing rebuke.
The legendary horror novelist didn’t hold back as he reacted to Trump’s recent comments about the cost of living crisis in the U.S. On May 13, while preparing for a State Visit to China, Trump made it crystal clear where his priorities lie. When pressed about how Americans’ financial struggles influenced his dealings with Iran, he bluntly stated, “Not even a little bit.”

Trump’s chilling focus? “The only thing that matters... is that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.” He dismissed concerns about the American economy, insisting that the stock market’s performance was secondary to his agenda. “The most important thing by far... is Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,” he reiterated, leaving many to wonder just how disconnected he is from the everyday struggles of his constituents.
King seized on this moment, tweeting, “Trump says he doesn’t care ‘even a little bit’ if Americans suffer rising costs. Of course he doesn’t; he can swan around in Air Force One and eat steak and eggs at every meal, if he wants.” The author’s words ignited a firestorm of reactions from his followers.

Responses ranged from outrage to disbelief. One user lamented, “All he cares about is making his $1 billion dollar ballroom while America burns. He doesn’t give a f*** about the people and it’s clear.” Another chimed in, “They won’t learn. If he announced he’s making another phone, the same dumba** that gave him money the first time would do it again.”
Critics of Trump were quick to point out the stark contrast between his lavish lifestyle and the struggles faced by average Americans. “Trump turns the screws on Americans as he lives a life of luxury,” one commenter noted. “Nothing he has done has eased the pain and suffering of the average American. Inflation? Up. Gas prices? Up. Healthcare costs? Staggeringly high.”

Yet, not everyone was on board with King’s take. A dissenting voice argued, “Hey dumba**, the rest of his statement that you conveniently left out was that he was more concerned about Iran having a nuclear weapon. Once this is over, the prices will drop and the world will be a much safer place.”
As Trump continues his trip in China with a cadre of business elites, the divide between his administration and the American public grows ever wider. King’s sharp critique serves as a reminder that not everyone is willing to turn a blind eye to the realities facing millions back home.
