Trump Attacks Former MAGA Ally With Altered Time Magazine Cover: 'VILE PERSON OF THE YEAR'
President Donald Trump unleashed a barrage of criticism against former MAGA supporter Candace Owens on Friday, sharing a manipulated Time magazine cover that brands her as “DESPICABLE PERSON OF THE YEAR.” This comes as Owens has openly criticized Trump regarding his stance on Iran and his unwavering support for Israel.
“Candace Owens’ stock, which was never very high, has plummeted significantly,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform. “Her attack on the First Lady of France is despicable. I believe, in this case, without verification, she is an extremely Low IQ individual!”

Last year, Owens faced a defamation lawsuit from French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron. The lawsuit stemmed from her claims in an eight-part podcast series that Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman who groomed her husband during his childhood.
The doctored Time magazine cover features what appears to be an altered selfie of Owens, enhanced with a sepia filter. The text on the cover reads, “Candace Owens Lies, Lies, Lies” and “Uses Rich White Men!”
In recent weeks, Trump has targeted several of his former supporters amid rising discontent over his perceived betrayal of anti-war principles. This MAGA rebellion includes Owens, former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, all of whom have called for Trump’s removal from office following his threats to obliterate “a whole civilization” as the unpopular Iran War continues.
Owens labeled Trump a “genocidal lunatic,” while conservative commentator Megyn Kelly bluntly advised him to “fucking shut up about that shit.” Additionally, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has referred to Trump as a “slave” to Israel and recently expressed regret for “misleading” voters into supporting him for the 2024 election.
Earlier this month, Trump criticized all five of his former allies in a social media post, asserting that their opposition stems from their “Low IQs.”

Furthermore, Owens has made controversial claims regarding the death of late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, suggesting he was not killed by Tyler Robinson, the accused gunman, but rather by elements within the Israeli government in collusion with the U.S. military.
Trump and Vice President JD Vance have participated in several events alongside Erika Kirk, the widow of the late activist and current CEO of TurningPoint USA. When asked last year what message she would convey to Owens, Erika Kirk simply stated, “Stop. That’s It. That’s all I have to say.”
