Trump Caught Snoozing at NBA Finals: A Taxpayer-Funded Slumber Party

President Donald Trump reportedly dozed off during game three of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, raising eyebrows and sparking outrage.

Observers on social media claimed to have spotted the Commander-in-Chief snoozing in a private box alongside Knicks owner James Dolan while the game unfolded.

Critics wasted no time in slamming Trump, who has a history of accusations regarding public appearances where he allegedly falls asleep. Democrats have even branded him “the Commander-in-Sleep.”

The Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump advocacy group, labeled Trump’s visit to Madison Square Garden as “the most expensive taxpayer-funded nap” in a post on X.

Activist Amy Siskind expressed her disbelief, posting, “OMG, after ALL THAT, Trump is sleeping at the Knicks game!”

She further questioned why Trump didn’t just “watch it on television,” referencing his earlier comments suggesting that fans unable to afford tickets—priced as high as $8,000—should stay home.

Another commenter on X lamented, “Trump so evil...came to ruin the fan experience just to sleep at the Knicks game.”

New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez chimed in with a blunt “WAKE TF UP” in response to footage of Trump nodding off.

Basketball fans quickly pointed fingers at Trump for the Knicks’ loss at home after a lengthy winning streak. Journalist Molly Knight noted, “So the Knicks win 13 playoff games in a row, a historic run! Then Donald Trump shows up to their first NBA finals home game this century, falls asleep, and they promptly lose.”

The White House has been contacted for comment regarding the incident.

Despite video evidence suggesting otherwise, the administration has previously denied that Trump falls asleep on the job.

Even before the alleged snooze, Trump’s appearance was mired in controversy. Extra security measures led to hours of delays for fans trying to enter the arena, and the crowd booed when Trump appeared on the jumbotron as the game began.

His presence also forced organizers to cancel watch parties outside the Garden, where New Yorkers were rallying behind a Knicks team making its first Finals run in decades.

Trump attended the historic game with family, friends, and White House colleagues.

He was seen alongside his granddaughter Kai Trump and several high-profile officials including Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, and Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino.
