Trump's Embarrassing Video Edit Sparks Outrage After NBA Finals Fiasco

Jun 10 2026

Donald Trump, the first sitting president to attend the NBA Finals, faced a barrage of boos that he attempted to erase from history by editing them out of a video shared by the official White House account.

In a bizarre move, Trump followed in the footsteps of granddaughter Kai Trump, who previously silenced her own negative reception. At the NBA Finals, he replaced the crowd's jeers with fabricated cheers and "USA" chants, creating a misleading portrayal of his welcome.

The San Antonio Spurs triumphed over the Knicks with a score of 115-111 in Game 3, thanks to Victor Wembanyama's 32-point performance. However, Trump's presence overshadowed the game as he was met with loud boos when displayed on the Jumbotron at Madison Square Garden.

During the national anthem, Trump stood beside Kai, both appearing taken aback by the hostile reception but maintaining their composure. The intense security surrounding his attendance did little to quell the crowd's disdain.

On Wednesday, the White House released a video compilation of Trump's time at the game, but it conveniently omitted the boos. Portions of the audio were muted while cheers were amplified, leading to swift condemnation from fans who labeled the clip as deceptive.

Critics slammed the video, with one user stating, "Strong leaders don’t need the crowd muted. If the cheers were real, the audio would still be on." Another remarked, "A taxpayer-funded propaganda show. Booed by the crowd, poorly received by fans, and focused more on self-promotion than anything else."

One observer humorously noted Trump's apparent disinterest during the game, quipping, "The boos nearly broke the glass he was sleeping behind." Many pointed out that his attendance came at public expense and seemed to jinx the Knicks' 13-game winning streak.

In a parallel incident, Kai Trump faced backlash for her own video that replaced loud booing with comically dubbed cheers. Followers criticized her for attempting to mislead others about her grandfather's popularity, with comments like, "Altered audio and everything wow you are really trying to lie to others and yourself that he is loved or even liked.. BOOOOOOOO."

Others suggested a pattern of deception within the Trump family, remarking, "They grift younger and younger in the Trump family lol." Kai, a 19-year-old professional golfer and the president's eldest grandchild, gained notoriety after delivering a speech in support of her grandfather's reelection bid at the 2024 Republican Convention.
